About Rita Matthews psychotherapy/counselling
We all need a friendly and relaxed approach to our life, but sometimes we need reassurance that what we’re getting is a service of the highest standards, and a recognised backup to skills. I have been in practice as a Professional Counsellor for 25 years, I have worked with various Counselling agencies, and I now see clients privately and have been trained in all aspects of pyschotherapy and counselling, including reality therapy (a form of Cognitive Behavourial Therapy, or CBT). Confidentiality is vital in my practice, alongside providing a safe and secure environment.
I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Pyschotherapy) and share in their codes of practice. I am also a member of FDAP ( Federation of drug and alcohol Counselling), and am one of the few certified Reality Therapists in the country. I am also an accredited member of the counselling society. I work with the client in the way that suits them the best and have been trained in humanistic, person centred, psychodynamic and CBT.
I believe the well being of the client is the most important part of the process of being a Professional Counsellor, and always focus on building a trusting relationship, where a client can feel safe, and secure in the knowledge that they can share their experiences in confidence.
